Ivan Kupala is celebrated on June 24 (July 7), the day of the summer solstice. According to the Julian calendar, it was celebrated on June 24, and according to the New Julian calendar, we are celebrating Midsummer again, just like our ancestors. It is worth noting that this date is celebrated in many countries around the world, but the holiday has other names. For example, the Swedes celebrate this day as “Midsummer”, in France (“Saint Jean”) and Bulgaria (“Yanovden”). Flame Day and Fire Day are celebrated by Albanians and Slovenes, respectively. Despite the different names, many of the rituals and customs of different nations are the same.

On this day, together with the students, we will get acquainted with the traditions and rituals of Ukrainian culture. We will weave wreaths, study plant bouquets, repeat rituals, and learn new vocabulary.
