Today, together with our students, we celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Saint Patrick, known as a Christian bishop and missionary, became best known as the patron saint of Ireland. Legends associate him with bringing Christianity to the island and ridding it of snakes.
His holiday, St Patrick’s Day, is celebrated on 17 March, and it has become not only a religious but also a cultural and commercial event. Celebrations take place not only in Ireland, but also in countries where the Irish diaspora resides.
English lessons today are made even more interesting with quests and treasure hunts related to the theme of St Patrick’s Day.
