World Engineering Day, established in 2020, draws public attention to the importance of engineering and the engineering profession. This holiday is celebrated annually on 4 March and emphasises the importance of engineering and modern technologies for the further progress of mankind.
In our maths and explore lessons, together with the students, we used a variety of materials at hand – boxes, skewers, containers, tubes, etc. – to create prototypes of various buildings and interesting mechanisms. Our goal is to capture the creativity and engineering potential of students by developing their engineering and problem-solving skills.
By building prototypes of towers, ferris wheels, catapults, spaceships and aeroplanes, we encourage students to explore, create and think creatively, deepening their understanding of engineering processes and principles.
