Bees, along with other pollinators such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities.
Pollination is critical to the survival of our ecosystems. Almost 90% of the world’s flowering plants are partially or fully dependent on animal pollinators. This includes more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of the world’s agricultural land. Pollinators not only contribute significantly to food security, but are also key to biodiversity conservation.
Students learn about these amazing insects and their benefits for humans and plants. We cooked dishes with honey and painted honey utensils.
