Choice: Yes or No? podcast is a dynamic discussion of topical issues, where participants compete in arguments on two opposing topics, answering the question: ‘Yes or no?’. Each episode focuses on a specific issue that is controversial among students, teachers and society at large. Participants of the podcast have to choose one side of the issue and justify their position with logical arguments, facts and examples.
The main topics of the episodes:
1 ‘Is homework necessary?’ – arguments for and against homework, its impact on students and their learning.
2 ‘Should school be without grades?’ – a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of a grading system that affects students’ motivation and development.
3 ‘Mobile phones in the classroom: pro or con?’ – how the use of technology in the classroom changes the learning process.
4 ‘Is it worth introducing compulsory physical education classes?’ – arguments about the importance of physical activity for students.
5 ‘Should all students learn foreign languages?’ – a discussion of the need to know several languages in the modern world.
The podcast helps students develop critical thinking, argumentation and public speaking skills. During the debate, participants:

1 Age of participants: 8+
2 Podcast format: each episode includes 2-4 participants who are divided into two groups (pro and con) discussing a particular issue. Preparation for participation includes developing arguments and finding evidence.
3 Episode topic: students receive the topic of discussion a few days before the podcast recording to give them time to prepare their arguments.
4 Ethics and politeness: participation involves constructive discussion, without personal insults or aggression. It is important to be prepared for an open dialogue
