Eskimo Day

On January, 24 an international event is celebrated – Eskimo Day, which is defined by the great achievement of Christian Nelson. In 1922, he was a chef and pastry chef in the United States and officially patented this dessert. Already in 1919, he produced his first chocolate-covered ice cream on a stick, which was a great success. The term “Eskimo Pie” became not only the official name, but also a real brand, gaining popularity.

The ice cream, called Eskimo Pie, quickly became a favourite among gourmets, so Christian Nelson decided to create a themed quest for the school’s students. Not only did the children complete the quest, but they also made a real-life portion of their own ice cream with their favourite additives and created packaging designs for each type of ice cream.

Today, thanks to the invention of Christian Nelson, Eskimo Day is celebrated not only as a recognition of this delicious dessert, but also as a celebration of its creator and the creative achievements of children at school.
