During the meeting, the director and founder of the school, Andrew Fawkes, spoke about the British education system, the programme that allows students to obtain a double certificate by studying Ukrainian and British programmes.
Mr. Fawkes presented the procedure for entering the school and the opportunities that the sponsorship programme opens up for Ukrainian students. Talented children who score the highest points in entrance tests receive grants for schooling.
During a walk around the school’s premises, the attendees viewed its developed infrastructure, which includes modern sports grounds for various sports, a professional swimming pool, workshops, large and modern classrooms.
Mrs. Iryna was impressed by the fact that despite the war in Ukraine, British partners are not afraid and continue to invest in the creation of important educational projects. The opening of the educational institution will take place in September 2023. This academic year, the Lviv British School elementary school will open its doors, where students from the 1st to the 4th grade, as well as preparatory classes for school. In September, 150 children from Lviv will start studying under a dual educational programme. In 2024, middle and high school for students of grades 5-11 will commence.
At the end of her visit, Mrs. Iryna expressed her gratitude to the Englishman for creating a large-scale project that will bring the city and children the quality knowledge, that they will need for the development of Ukraine in the future.
