On June, 21 Lviv British School hosted a culinary masterclass on making cheesecake with honey and original decor. Cheesecake is one of the most popular desserts in the world. It is distinguished by its bright flavour, delicate texture and numerous cooking variations.
The first cheesecake desserts appeared in ancient Egypt and Greece, where cottage cheese was grated into a paste, mixed with honey and flour and baked. In the Middle Ages, pies similar to modern cheesecakes were made, and in the 18th century, eggs were added to the recipes. European immigrants brought the recipe for this dessert to America, but the real breakthrough came with the invention of cream cheese (Philadelphia).
When a well-known American restaurant offered a cheesecake with a new cheese, it delighted visitors, and its fame quickly spread throughout the country and beyond.
